Our commitment to safety is a driving force at Rust Constructors—a force that has led to repeated industry recognition.
- In 2008 Rust received the Associated Builders & Contractors’ Safest in the Industry Award for outstanding safety programs and performance.
- In 2008 Rust was selected for second annual Associated Builders & Contractors’ Hispanic Initiative Award for outstanding involvement of our Hispanic workers.
- In 2006, we were ranked among "America's Safest Companies" by Occupational Hazards magazine. The selection criteria included an evaluation of our safety programs and our implementation of those programs as well as management commitment to safety and overall safety performance.
- In 2007, we received the National Excellence in Safety Award from the Associated Builders and Contractors based on our extensive safety programs, training, craft employee and management participation, history with OSHA, and lost time incident rates.
- For the past three years, Rust Constructors has been selected for the Associated Builders and Contractors' Platinum STEP Award for safety programs that exceed OSHA requirements.
- Rust Constructors has not had a Days Away from Work (DAW) injury since May 2003. This totals over 4.5 million work hours over all projects and divisions of Rust. During this same time, our workers' compensation cost has been around $0.06 per work hour at the end of each year.
