Petroleum Coke Facility Construction

  • Client: DTE Energy Services
  • Location: Vicksburg, MS
  • Total Installed Cost: $12 Million
  • Scope: Construction
  • Completed: 2005

DTE Energy Services wanted to find a market for petroleum coke (pet coke), a by-product of the oil refining process. In order to be the first on the market, DTE Energy Services needed a completed plant on an accelerated schedule.

Rust Constructors was selected to manage the construction, which included hiring and training all subcontractors.

Despite a tight six-month schedule with overlapping deadlines and numerous field modifications required by the client, the award-winning project was completed on time and under budget without a single injury.

The Project was recognized by Associated Builders and Contractors and awarded the 2005 "Excellence in Construction" award in the $5-15 Million Category.
