Rust Constructors provided construction management for Hyundai's first U.S. assembly plant. The plant encompasses general assembly, stamping and body facilities, engine plant, testing site, and related infrastructure for the production of the Sonata sedan and the Santa Fe sport utility vehicle. Rust's oversight responsibilities included project schedule, budget, quality program, safety program, and management of construction and specialty subcontractors. The project required flexibility on the part of Rust, since construction was taking place in the midst of changing automotive assembly needs.
